PANTHER CAMP - THANKS

Dear JLS Parent Community and PTA,

Panther Camp, our 6th grade orientation program, was a great success again this year, due in large part, to the many parent volunteers who gave their time and efforts in support of our students.  It would not be possible to list all of the parents who worked during the three-day program and before hand, behind the scenes, organizing and coordinating efforts for Panther Camp.  A team of over fifty parents participated in Panther Camp setting up and supervising activities, helping with clean up, taking photos and creating a slideshow of highlights, providing food for the 8th grade counselor training, purchasing supplies, and much more.

Tremendous thanks goes to all of you who have made such a difference in the lives of our 6th graders, helping them to make connections and to feel more acclimated to the middle school environment, and in the lives of the 8th grade counselors, who were remarkable in their positive leadership.

The parents who participated were able to make connections among themselves, learn more about the JLS environment, and greatly contribute to the success of our orientation program.

The JLS staff and administrators are committed to supporting the academic, social, and emotional growth of our students, a goal we know we share with you, our incredible parent community.

We are truly grateful for all that you do to make JLS the wonderful school that it is.  We welcome your feedback and input on Panther Camp, as we work toward improvements for future years.  A Panther Camp Parent Evaluation form is available in the JLS main office. It is also posted on/linked from the PTA website, and a copy will be available in this first edition of the Panther Tracks. We would appreciate you taking a few moments to complete it, as your feedback is invaluable to our improvement of Panther Camp.  Please return your feedback/evaluation form to the JLS main office as soon as possible.

In Gratitude,

The Panther Camp Coordination Team:

Pier Angeli La Place, Ryan Salzmann, and Katie Schramm
